SA BRAIN The Reverend James Pale Ale
4.5% ABV
I noted this as a very interesting Scottish ale, yet I believe it's Welsh.....
Quite a fruity number with a similar taste and aroma. My lack of enthusiastic description means it must have been rather forgettable.
WYCHWOOD Scarecrow Pale Ale
4.7% ABV
A clear pale ale that's a nice fresh sessioneer. It's got a nice light aroma, but nothing that will fell a wild horse. Not particularly distinctive to yours, but pleasant on the palette.
GALWAY HOOKER Galway Hooker Pale Ale
4.4% ABV
Will revert to this one at a later stage... it's becoming (along with O'Hara's) a staple in more and more bars in Dublin where the landlords are taking that small bit of risk and wading into the glorious waters of real ale, doing something significant to stem the Diageo/InBev tsunami of mediocrity.
A damn decent ale on draught, though the jury is out as to whether it's a winning session beer.

BREWDOG Trashy Blond Pale Ale
4.1% ABV
A saucy little bruiser as one would expect. Citrus-y aroma and a lingering hop and fruity dryness that sits in your gob for about a week. It's low in alcohol so its the massive blast of hops that give the major kick in the proverbials. Winner!
BLACK SHEEP Black Sheep Ale
4.4% ABV
A clear golden amber ale with a sharp, fresh and dry taste. Nice white head with plenty of lacing. A good staple I'd imagine, especially on draught.

HOOK NORTON Old Hooky brown ale
4.6% ABV
A very astringent and malty brown ale with a heavy does of fruit.

BUTTE CREEK Pale Ale
5% ABV

Golden clear in appearance; nice warm hoppy flavour, a bit cloying on the palette. Not a huge amount of alcohol in the overall taste
